What A Student Planner Should Help You Do
- Track tests, assignments and exam preparation
- Break large projects into smaller tasks
- Balance school, home and personal goals
Start with our Day Planner, Weekly Planner and Monthly Planner for a simple academic planning setup.
Semesters, tests and the weeks that decide your year
A student year is not evenly distributed. Two or three weeks decide most of your mark, and they are visible months in advance if anyone writes them down. The monthly planner exists for exactly that: put every test, assignment and exam on the page at the start of the semester and the shape of your year becomes obvious.
Working backwards from a due date
An assignment due on the 20th is not a task on the 19th. On the monthly page, mark the due date, then mark the day you intend to start — usually further back than feels necessary. The weekly planner then carries the actual sessions.
This is the single habit that separates students who submit calmly from students who submit at 23:58, and it takes about ten minutes per semester to set up.
Study weeks look different to normal weeks
During term, the weekly planner is enough. In the two weeks before exams, switch to daily sheets — not because you need more structure in general, but because those weeks require you to decide in advance which subject gets which block, or you will revise whichever one feels least frightening.
Print daily sheets in a stack. Being able to throw away a bad day and start again tomorrow matters more than a tidy record.
Money, honestly
Student budgets are small and irregular, which makes them harder to manage than large ones, not easier. The single-page budget planner is the right size for a student month: allowance or NSFAS in, transport, data, food, and whatever is genuinely left. Seeing that data and transport are the two biggest lines is usually the whole insight.
Print-friendly on purpose
Everything prints in black and white on plain A4, because campus printing is charged per page and rarely in colour. The single-page sheets exist partly for that reason: one page, one week, a few rand.
